Episode 00: "The Orientation"

Went to New York City for the Hebrew University orientation. It was good times. I was there with about twenty, thirty other students, most of them undergrad. A lot of parents, too. My mom would've been there, but she got caught in traffic in Jersey. There was something like a three-way collision between trucks or something. Thankfully no one died. On the down side, though, Mom and a couple thousand other people trying to get into Manhattan were not successful. So I was there by myself.

Actually, not true. Sat next to a swell guy named Phil from Long Island. He was cool to talk to, so it didn't feel lonely at all. Plus the speakers were enthusiastic and informative, and the video about the school was pretty frickin' exciting. The students in the video kept saying the year they spent in Jerusalem was the best year of their lives. The speakers in the room said the same thing about theirs. Like watching a movie in sweet, academic 3-D. I know they're supposed to promote promote promote, but it felt good to hear.

There was good Jewish food there. I don't know how to spell filafel. I'm gonna spell it like "waffle." Filaffle.

Saw 28 Weeks Later afterwards, up at 42nd street. Lemme tell you, seeing zombies being chopped to bits by helicopter blades is a classy way to kill time.
